The New Eddy font was created for a very specific mission: to take its place on a giant screen during a dance performance. The aim was to push back the limits of contrast while remaining technically legible on a large scale. The result is a titling typeface condensed in a regular weight, marked by pronounced contrast and exaggerated serifs that give it a unique personality. New Eddy goes to extremes with its long, tapering lines and high-waisted capitals, deliberately flirting with caricature, while remaining legible and stable. What sets New Eddy apart is its captivating visual rhythm, resulting from the combination of particularly large round shapes with narrower letters. This creates an intriguing typographic texture when used to compose words and texts. Some of New Eddy's typefaces even have a construction reminiscent of art deco typefaces, such as B, R, P and E, among others. New Eddy shows a lot of personality through its shapes, making it an expressive and striking contemporary typeface.
