Buzz is a typeface designed primarily for large-scale use, intended for bold and
impactful headlines. Its shapes draws inspiration from various archetypal American
wood typefaces, particularly present on the mid-20th-century newspapers front
pages. The initial concept was to capture the imperfect materiality of letters carved
from wood with an overall sense of handcrafted production rather than digital
precision. In this spirit, Buzz deliberately embraces missing or incorrect optical
corrections, creating subtle variations in weight. A controlled flaw that gives the
typeface a slightly unsettling, distinctive character. Despite its very heavy weight,
Buzz maintains a friendly tone thanks to its soft, rounded curves. This contrast gives
the typeface a strong visual presence while retaining a playful setting.
