Buzz is a typeface designed primarily for large-scale use, intended for bold andimpactful headlines. Its shapes draws inspiration from various archetypal Americanwood typefaces, particularly present on the mid-20th-century newspapers frontpages. The initial concept was to capture the imperfect materiality of letters carvedfrom wood with an overall sense of handcrafted production rather than digitalprecision. In this spirit, Buzz deliberately embraces missing or incorrect opticalcorrections, creating subtle variations in weight. A controlled flaw that gives thetypeface a slightly unsettling, distinctive character. Despite its very heavy weight,Buzz maintains a friendly tone thanks to its soft, rounded curves. This contrast givesthe typeface a strong visual presence while retaining a playful setting.
